This research focuses on the role of artificial intelligence in educational technologies in higher education. The modern vision and needs of current and future professions set new requirements for the training of future specialists related to the use and application of high-tech training resources. The relevance of the issues under consideration stems from the need to adapt the training to the modern requirements of professional practice. In Bulgaria, the application of artificial intelligence in higher education is developing rapidly, but there are areas where it is still in its early manifestation process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the development of educational technologies using artificial intelligence and to present the results of a pilot experimental study among students, aimed at upgrading the previously applied learning technologies by implementing artificial intelligence. The results of the experimental study show an increase in student motivation and learning efficiency through the use of AI for learning purposes.
