Description

The article is devoted to the extremely topical issue of fulfilling the environmental, sanitary and health requirements and ensuring radiation safety in the creation and operation of radiation hazardous facilities and the protection of the population, including their personnel. It examines some of the modern threats and dangers of radiation pollution; the role and importance of sources of radiation hazard in the formation of the ecological situation and the human environment in Bulgaria; technogenic and environmental risks associated with the creation and operation of radiation hazardous facilities; some of the problems of management and regulation in the field of radiation safety. Some modern views on the methods, organizational principles, measures and actions for ensuring radiation safety are analyzed. Attention is paid to regulatory, legal, economic and other aspects in the field of ensuring radiation safety of the population.
