Description

This paper presents a model for a Cyber Range platform designed for automated deployment and management of virtualized cybersecurity training infrastructures. The research focuses on reducing the time, complexity, and manual effort required to build realistic cyber exercise environments while maintaining flexibility and scalability. The proposed platform model is based on infrastructure automation, centralized orchestration, and scenario driven lifecycle management of virtual machines and network components.
The research methodology includes architectural design, implementation of a functional prototype, and experimental evaluation in an academic training environment. The platform enables automated provisioning, configuration, execution, and teardown of cyber scenarios using predefined templates and access control mechanisms. Emphasis is placed on reproducibility of exercises, efficient resource utilization, and support for adversary emulation and defensive training use cases.
The results demonstrate that the proposed model significantly accelerates infrastructure deployment and simplifies Cyber Range administration compared to traditional manual approaches and other open-source cyber range solutions. The platform improves consistency of training environments and enables rapid iteration of complex scenarios.
